Turus Ukko is a legendary lure brand that dates back to the 1970’s. With roots in Finland, a country known for its innovative and quality lure design these lures once was shaped and brought to life by Jorma Turunen. Quickly tales were told. Big fish caught on lures looking like nothing else at the time. With a curbed body and swim action that made predator fish go crazy Turus Ukko was something every serious fishermen must have. The lures were sometimes painted like art and can still today be collectors items. The brand was later sold to the states but no success was made and quality was questionable, setting a fade over the once great lure. It was gone.

Back home in Finland this was not acceptable. After some time Jarmo Rapala bought Turus Ukko and made the design even better and quality outstanding with his lure workshop “Suomen Uistin”, bringing the lure back to life and the predator scene could once more fish with the big fish lure it was created as. But after some years the lures were nowhere to be found, again.

Behind the scenes Jarmo had taught the lure loving Guido Behler how to make these lures and the ownership is now at his hands in Germany. European anglers were crazy in the 9, 12 and 16 cm sizes and in Sweden a small numbers of 20 cm was made. For the 20 cm this is the very last ones ever to be made as the brand is developing plastic models for a hybrid portfolio, where tradition meets innovation.
